| 介紹 | CAB-O-SIL? LM-150 is a low surface area fumed silica which imparts moderate increase in viscosity and reinforcement in liquid and polymer systems. CAB-O-SIL LM-150 is used primarily for thixotropy in silicone sealants and reinforcement in silicone rubbers. Untreated fumed silicas are characterized by:
Silicone Sealants: The primary application for CAB-O-SIL LM-150 is RTV-1 and RTV-2 silicone sealants. Among the untreated fumed silicas, LM-150 provides the best balance of dispersability, thixotropy and reinforcement. While fumed silicas with higher surface area than LM-150 will provide higher thixotropy and reinforcement, adequate dispersion cannot be achieved with the low shear mixing equipment widely used in the sealant industry. Silicone Rubbers: CAB-O-SIL LM-150 can be used for reinforcement of HTV/HCR. It imparts only moderate increase in hardness, tensile and elongation, but is the most easily dispersed untreated fumed silica. Because of the hydrophilic surface of untreated fumed silicas, further modification of the silica surface is necessary to prevent crepe hardening. |
